Central California Insulation Contractors is located in San Jose , California, which has a population of just under one million and is considered to be the heart of Silicon Valley .  In the early 70's, as the high tech industry began to boom, San Jose grew considerably and is now the 10th largest city in the U.S. The surrounding metropolitan nine counties, known as the San Francisco Bay Area, are now over 7 million people collectively.  Our primary focus is in providing insulation for new construction projects in the Bay Area.  If you have a high speed internet connection, check out this informative video about Silicon Valley.

During the company's early beginnings, our emphasis was in the residential market.  As the high tech industry began its rapid growth here in Silicon Valley, the company expanded into the commercial arena.

Now, we aggressively participate in both commercial and residential construction.  Insurance regulations in California are such that we have chosen not to work on multi-family for sale housing projects , as well as most tract work.  However, we have found a niche in large rental projects and mixed use projects.  Although we do not participate in the Condo/Townhouse and tract segments of construction, we have developed a strong presence in the custom home market, specializing in the attention to detail that the homeowner and builder expect when they invest in this most important project.

January 1926 Standard Oil Bulletin Cover

Our buildings were built in 1898, and were originally occupied by The Standard Oil Company (which is now known as ChevronTexaco).  The following is an excerpt from the "Standard Oil Bulletin" published in January, 1926, and shows our warehouse being used as a navigational guide.

"In 1926, The Standard Oil Company cooperated with the Army Air Service to help mark the airways of the Pacific Coast.  This picture shows a Standard Oil bulk-storage distribution center in San Jose, California, with a sign on the roof to help pilots navigate.  The company painted block letters, a minimum of twelve feet tall, on roofs in over 100 cities from Seattle to San Diego, visible from 3,000 feet up in good weather.  Signs like this were an important help to early aviators, who navigated with nothing but a map, a compass, and a good memory for landmarks.  Standard Oil received so many thanks for the signs--from the Navy, the Postmaster General, and numerous flying clubs and air transport businesses--that the company decided to paint more."

A more current aerial photo, right, shows our facility at the approximate center.  Note the long side of our "L" shaped building is the same structure as shown above.

We are located in an industrial area approximately two miles from the center of downtown San Jose.  The company acquired this property in 1973.  We are conveniently surrounded by freeways 280, 880, and 87, and just a few minutes from highways 680, 85, 17, and 101.  This allows for quick, convenient dispatching, in virtually any direction.

The buildings we occupy at our facility consist of approximately 20,000 sq. ft. of warehouse, and approximately 3,000 sq. ft. of office space, on about 1.5 acres.  We are able to stock about one hundred different types of materials for a total of approximately one million sq. ft. of inventory, allowing us to rapidly mobilize for most jobs.
